I was interested in everything which could be described by means of a documentary camera. there was a necessity, a need even, very exciting for us, of describing the world. The communist world had not been yet described, in another words – it has been presented the way it should look, and not the way it really looked. There were many of us trying to describe it. It was fascinating. In a way, if something is not described, it does not exist. If we start describing it, we bring it to life.

Krzysztof KieÅ›lowski “About Myself”, 1997

Character is everything. Without a strong, complex, engaging character you don’t have a film in my opinion. But finding them is a fucking nightmare. I spend more time looking for them than filming them.
