“Since July 1, more than 125,000 of you have donated $4 million. In addition, we’ve received major gifts and foundation support totaling $2 million. This combined revenue will cover our operating expenses for the current fiscal year, ending June 30, 2009.”
Poor wikipedia. $6 million for operating over a year? That made a huge impression on me, probably because the post was accompanied by a haunting photo of Wikipedia’s founder, Jimmy Wales. But seriously, this are huge costs and it’s quite comforting that they can get the founding.
Not from me though, my current charity of choice is British Gas. But I thought since I’m not much use fiscally I could always contribute (dubious) brainpower. So here’s the mission: if you spot an article, which you think is really, really interesting and doesn’t have a Polish version (easy to check in the languages box on the bottom of left hand side menu), let me know and I shall attempt translation. For the sake of better communication between all of us.
