I put this clip together as a result of checking my camera close-up/focus abilities. It’s really very silly indeed. Say what you want. I am the master of procrastination.

Now, I put this up on vimeo, which is a very neat service in itself. However Sacha over at jaiku pointed out that it’s not deinterlanced and therefore there are lines that you can quite often find on digital videos. Here we go, you can see them on my hand while I wash the dishes:

That’s basically result of how camcorders cope with the fact that they record 50 pictures per second (or rather fields) per second instead of 25 frames. Here is more details. What is interesting is that I uploaded the same video on youtube, and it seems to have less of a problem:

So here goes the video deinterlanced using an option in Final Cut Pro (File -> Export -> Using QuickTime Convertion… Format: QuickTime Movie -> Options… -> Size… -> Deinterlace Source Video [checkbox]), which I use for all editing, uploaded again to vimeo:
