a.k.a the sequel to my post a day in brands:
To say it’s spreading like fire might be a bit of an exaggeration - but more and more people are composing their brand (logos) timelines. I presume it’s because brands are big part of how we construct and present ourselves these days (insert the usual rant about consumerism and advertising here) and blogging is to a huge extent about self presentation. And before you say that you blog about technologies, food or football, thank you very much, let me say that more than likely you sign your posts with your name or nickname, i.e. you present yourself as a technology specialist, a food fan, or a football supporter etc.
I find the comparisons interesting mainly because it’s quite impossible to put literally all brands one uses in the timeline - some choices must be made. And even though we use a lot of the same global brands (it seems), we leave out/put in different things.
I had a look through whatever link love I was informed of and here are the time lines I found some what interesting
Daniel Gray put together his Day in brands of a graphic designer. You might want to check Daniel’s portfolio as well - the birthday party invitation has won me over.
Dabitch over at Adland created joint one for her and her daughter.
And here’s how much time/brands we share with our pets (at Beyond Rivalry)
Ek is french, so french brands included here, and a lot of Wii action.
Alan Wolk put together pictures of branded objects he uses.
Adhack at Creative Beef put together a picture of Friday night in brands (very good, except the discousting choice of beer)
Doug Jaeger made one over at thehappycorp.com - some more Mac love
Phil googles before sleep
Marketing Student doesn’t go out (apparently)
Mike Vogel wonders whether he could substitute local brands for global ones.

Phil A added these pithy words on May 30 08 at 9:12 pmhaha, the google logo during my REM sleeping phase is meant to be sarcastic. it means that due to the fact that you (and me) use google during the day, google can follow you during the nights. I personally don’t google before sleep. FYI only. But I’m sure there are some people out there who can’t get any sleep without pushing the Feeling Lucky button. :)

Dave added these pithy words on Jun 01 08 at 4:13 pmThat was a lazy day off work, so I just went to a friend’s house to chill out. We met up at Tim Horton’s and took it from there.
I love how you recognized Tim Horton’s as Canadian. That’s almost like our national “brand”…I wonder what brands associate people with the UK. Let’s see…Burberry…Reebok?
